The Journey of a Professional Runner: From Texas to Olympic Trials
What Got You Started in Running?
I honestly fell into the sport. In Texas, for middle school, it is a requirement to do 2 sports to pass what is called athletics. I wasn’t the best at basketball or volleyball, and that left me with cross country and track. To be honest, I wasn’t the best; however, I was so determined to excel at the two! My dad was very active, and this was a great way for us to bond! I also played softball for a while, and all the coaches would call me "WHEELS" and say that I was one of the fastest players they have ever seen.
Most Memorable Race/Event
My most memorable race/event would be MT SAC, one of my most recent races. It’s my first year running professionally, and it is so bittersweet!
Biggest Obstacle to Date
Staying on top of my diet. Traveling to different places can make it tricky to find the right foods.
Exciting Upcoming Event
The Olympic Trials.
